Biography of Arthur Chen (Shih-Hsiu Chen)
Arthur Chen: Bridging Business, Community, and Taiwan–U.S. Collaboration
Arthur Chen is a Taiwanese-American entrepreneur and community leader with more than three decades of experience driving business growth, strengthening international networks, and advancing Taiwan–U.S. collaboration.
In 1992, Arthur Chen founded DW Display Fixture Corp., which has since scaled into the only Taiwanese-owned wholesale importer of retail display fixtures in the United States, serving clients nationwide. Through multiple global economic disruptions—including the dot-com downturn and the 2008 financial crisis—the company has maintained financial stability and operational resilience under his leadership.
The organization’s focus on quality and innovation has resulted in national recognition, including being named one of the Top 100 Retail Display Fixture Companies in the U.S. by Display & Design Ideas magazine and receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award from the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce – Southwest.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Arthur Chen guided the company through significant supply chain and market disruptions, emerging stronger in the post-pandemic economy. In 2022 alone, company revenue increased by nearly 40%, reinforcing its strategic positioning within the U.S. retail industry.
Beyond business, Arthur Chen is widely recognized for his civic leadership and philanthropic impact. He has led initiatives to donate medical supplies to U.S. communities, supported frontline healthcare workers in Taiwan, and co-founded international humanitarian efforts to assist refugees in Europe.
Arthur Chen currently serves as the Honorary President of the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America and as an OCAC Commissioner of Taiwan. Through these roles, he actively advocates for Taiwanese businesses, supports overseas Taiwanese professionals and students, and strengthens engagement between Taiwan and mainstream North American society.
A strong proponent of education and innovation, Arthur Chen has facilitated Taiwan–U.S. academic and research collaboration, particularly in semiconductor and STEM disciplines. He has supported scholarship and internship programs for female students at Rice University and continues to advance partnerships between Taiwanese universities and leading institutions in Texas.
Guided by a long-term vision centered on sustainable growth, social responsibility, and global collaboration, Arthur Chen remains committed to elevating global understanding of Taiwan’s economic strength, talent, and values while creating scalable opportunities for future generations.
